One-Pot Spicy Mutton & Potato Curry (Aloo Gosht)

One-Pot Spicy Mutton & Potato Curry (Aloo Gosht)

Introduction

This pressure cooker mutton curry is a simple, comforting, home-style recipe made with basic Indian spices. The meat turns soft, juicy, and deeply flavourful, while the potatoes absorb all the rich masala. Perfect for beginners, busy families, and anyone who loves traditional food with minimum effort.

This recipe sounds like a classic, soul-warming Indian mutton and potato curry (Aloo Gosht). It’s hearty, aromatic, and perfect for a family dinner.

There is nothing quite like the aroma of a slow-cooked mutton curry wafting through the house. This recipe is a "one-pot wonder" using a pressure cooker to ensure the meat is butter-soft and the potatoes soak up every bit of the spicy gravy. Whether it’s a Sunday lunch or a weeknight treat, this dish hits the spot.

Add turmeric powder and mix gently.

Add the mutton pieces and mix until well coated with the masala.

Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and mutton masala. Mix thoroughly.

Add chopped potatoes and a few mint leaves.

Add chopped tomatoes and salt. Cook until tomatoes soften.
