Ingredients:
6 pav bread pieces
4 tablespoons oil
2 tablespoons ghee
Mustard seeds
Cumin seeds
Fennel seeds
Black gram (urad dal)
Split Bengal gram (chana dal)
Turmeric powder
Red chilli powder
Coriander powder or garam masala
2 chopped onions
Curry leaves
Chopped green chillies
Dried red chillies
Chopped garlic cloves
Chopped cucumber
Chopped tomato
Salt to taste
Pav bhaji masala
Lemon juice
Method:
Heat oil and ghee in a pan.
Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, urad dal, and chana dal. Let them crackle.
Add chopped onions, curry leaves, green chillies, dried red chillies, and garlic. Sauté until the onions soften.
Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and coriander powder or garam masala.
Add chopped cucumber and tomato. Add salt and sprinkle a little water. Cover and cook for a few minutes.
Add pav bhaji masala, ghee and mix well.
Finally, add the pav bread pieces and gently mix so the bread absorbs the masala.
Serve hot with garlic, onions, cucumber soaked in lemon juice, and fresh orange juice.
