Instructions (The Pressure Cooker Method)
Welcome to today’s baby food recipe — a gentle chicken and rice mash that’s wholesome, flavourful, and easy to make at home.
1. First, take 1 cup of washed and soaked rice. Add this to your pressure cooker. Next, add fresh chicken pieces – these provide essential protein for your baby’s growth.
2. For flavour and digestion, toss in a few whole black peppercorns, half a teaspoon of turmeric powder for anti-inflammatory benefits, salt to taste, and about half a teaspoon of cumin seeds which aid digestion.
3. Add half a spoon of freshly ground ginger-garlic paste. This gentle aromatic not only adds flavour but can1 also help with digestion and immune support.
4. Pour in 2 to 2.5 cups of water depending on the texture you want. For a slightly mashed consistency perfect for babies, 2.5 cups works well.
5. Add some finely chopped onions and tomatoes for mild sweetness and extra vitamins, and sprinkle fresh coriander leaves for freshness.
6. Cover and pressure cook for about 3 to 4 whistles on medium heat. When cooking is done, carefully release the pressure.
7. Once cooled slightly, mash the mixture gently with a spoon or hand blender to a smooth and soft consistency ideal for babies transitioning to solids.
