 Spicy, peppery Chicken Liver & Heart Curry 

 – Traditional Peppery Side Dish


Intro:

If you love bold, spicy, and unique flavors, this Chicken Liver & Heart Curry is perfect. With potatoes, pepper, and aromatic spices, it’s a wholesome side dish that pairs beautifully with steamed rice, chapati, or dosa.


Ingredients:

3–4 tbsp Oil

1 tsp Saunf (fennel seeds)

1 tsp Jeera (Cumin seeds)

2 medium Onions – chopped

4–5 Green chillies – chopped

1–2 tbsp Ginger-garlic paste

1 tsp Turmeric powder

1–2 tsp Red chilli powder

2 tsp Coriander powder

3–4 Potatoes – peeled & cubed


Spice Paste

3 tsp Tomato – chopped

2 tsp Whole black pepper

2 tsp Cumin seeds


1 tsp Black pepper powder

1–2 tsp Garam masala

2 tsp Kashmiri red chilli paste

Rock salt – as required

Water – as needed

500–800 g Chicken liver & heart – cleaned and chopped.

Preparation:

1. Make the spice paste

In a mixie jar, add chopped tomatoes, whole black pepper, and cumin seeds.

Grind into a smooth paste and keep aside.


2. Cook the base

Heat oil in a cooker or pan.

Add fennel seeds (saunf)

and cumin seeds.

Add chopped onions and green chillies, sauté until golden.

Stir in ginger-garlic paste and fry till raw smell goes.

Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and coriander powder. Mix well.


3. Add vegetables & paste

Add cubed potatoes and sauté for a minute.

Pour in the ground tomato–pepper–cumin paste,

black pepper powder, garam masala

Cook until the masala thickens and oil starts separating.


4. Add chicken parts & spices

Add the cleaned chicken liver & heart. Mix well with masala.

Add Kashmiri red chilli paste, , and rock salt.


5. Pressure cook

Add required water (enough to cook and form gravy).

Close cooker lid and cook for 2 whistles.

Let pressure release naturally.


6. Finish

Open the lid, check consistency, and let gravy thicken if needed.

Switch off the flame.
